Bio: My name is Akshita Pindi, and I am currently a Junior at Frisco High School. I am a hard-working and academically inclined student with a passion for science and history. Through the ISM program, I am studying anesthesiology, a part of medicine that's interested me for many years. I am part of the IB program at my school and love to take science-related summer courses offered by colleges in my spare time. For instance, last summer, I attended a course on neuroscience hosted by Columbia University. I am a part of many extracurriculars, including student council, national honor society, and key club. I also have been playing soccer for many years, and have run track. Other personal activities I enjoy include painting, cooking, and volunteering. I volunteer for organizations such as the Sankara Eye Foundation, local programs such as the Green Team, and volunteer online by transcribing texts from languages I speak (english, spanish, and telugu). I hope ISM can tech me important lessons on my journey to college, and I am so excited to see what the future holds as I pursue my career goals.
Mission Statement: Through the ISM program, I will learn to be the most efficient and effective student I can be. The knowledge I have of the subjects I am passionate about will develop with the experience I gain through my mentor and this program. The skills I attain will help me grow, allowing me to reach my full potential as a professional in the medical field. By the completion of this program, I hope to have gained a considerable amount of insight towards anesthesiology. As we continue with the major projects of this class, I hope to learn how to properly write reports and analyze studies in this field. As the year comes to a close, I hope to create an inspiring and impactful project relating to my subject choice. And when I am finally able take on this career, I hope to change the lives of many people.
